Studio Photography

I am a fly on the wall… Capturing the moments when a band is creating music in the studio is one of my favorite things to do. It’s an honor and a privilege to witness these sessions. Especially for The Contribution and New Monsoon. I was also the staff photographer at TRI when it first opened and sat in on quite a few rehearsals and performances there.

Project description

Being a studio photographer is all about staying out of the way. This means hiding under pianos and behind baffels and only popping up between takes. Unless the studio is one room. Then it’s basically shooting while the musicians are setting up or working on the music before the engineer hits record. At TRI Studios I also shot some live performances before a very small audience, and rehearsals, in the case of Journey and the Marin Symphony.
